Slavery and Discrimination in America evolved, it hasn’t been abolished.

Has there ever been a time when Americans held to truisms that all men are created equal, or that we should judge based on content of character and not color of skin? I would think that most people agree with these sentiments, but today we continue to see arguments in favor of discrimination and slavery prevalent in America, though the package has changed the advocates of slavery and discrimination have not.

What is shocking, if not downright sad, is that discrimination has always been a phenomenon of the American Left, though they will adamantly deny it. It was the American Right (Republicans) who sought to advance the cause of Liberty and abolish slavery. It was Republicans who first sought Women’s Suffrage as well as equality in the work place. It’s been Republicans who have sought to ensure that the Jeffersonian vision of America came to fruition, that ALL men (and women) were created equal and were thus entitled to certain inaliable rights, life, liberty, property.
Jefferson wrote:

Under the law of nature, all men are born free, every one comes into the world with a right to his own person, which includes the liberty of moving and using it at his own. This is what is called personal liberty, and is given him by the author of nature (God), because necessary for his own sustenance.-1

The American Left has been the party of slavery from its inception. The Democrats have justified slavery with a plethora of bigoted ideas, sadly among them the idea that the slaves couldn’t possibly fend for themselves. Obscene ideas like this were common place back then, the slavers often told themselves that they were freeing the slaves from having to think for themselves, that they were “taking care” of the less intelligent, less capable… All this while they lived in a self inflicted paranoia of violent slave revolts.-2 Many slavers cushioned their bigotry with the feathers of being a gentle care giver… My goodness how little has changed.

Today the left stands for exactly the same principals. Except their target are kept on the plantation of welfare, a system they seek to perpetuate not with whips now, but with taxation and exploitation of the American Productive and Working Class. In their post Civil War prime Democrats have managed to get the top tax rates as high as 90%! What is it when the government confiscates almost all your earnings if not forcing the productive to produce for the benefit of the unproductive? How do we define that, exactly? Early Republicans would have called it slavery. Of course, Democrats today define it as “Social and Economic Justice,” as taking care of those who can’t take care of themselves…. Hmmmm… Interesting that in this paradigm the Democrats manage to enslave both the productive and unproductive. The unproductive get to be taken care of, they get to stay in the house, while the rest of us get sold down the river...

In another interesting twist Democrats now live in a self inflicted paranoid fear of a violent slave… err tax payer revolt in the form of the Tea Party. Also the target of their bigotry has changed from blacks to the “rich.” For Walter Mondale that was people making $60,000 a year, for Obama $200,000 a year. There is also a lot of bashing of non-Islamic religions that comes from the left now as well which is distressing. How is it a crime to pray in school? What is wrong with “In God we Trust” on our currency, or “one nation under God” in our pledge of allegiance? Why must we take down every symbol of our Judeo-Christian traditions in the public square in the fear that we might offend. Aside from Penn Jillete who exactly is offended?

Then there is all the hate spewing forth from the Democrats every time they talk about “angry old white people,” the moniker they have applied to the Tea Party, at the very same time they try and scare angry old white people with promises that if Republicans get elected Social Security will be taken away. See how they keep people on the plantation with dependency? Compile this with all the hate toward Black Conservatives, like how Black Conservatives get shouted down with taunts like “race traitor,” and “uncle Tom.”

How is it that the party which whines the loudest about (mostly imagined) discrimination remains the party most guilty of the most vile hate we see out there? Their target might have changed a bit, but little else has. The Democrats are so much the same party that they were in the 1800s that they have yet to venture away from another key component of the mudsill theory they have repackaged as “Social Justice” but still cling to… Slavery, they claimed, was necessary because darker skinned people would do the menial work that white people wouldn’t do… Hmmm how like “We need illegal immigrants to do the work Americans won’t do…”

As many things change many more remain the same. And it’s not funny. America’s youth needs to be made aware of this, and encouraged to research it on their own. Finding the parallels in the political philosophy of the Democrats of the 1800 and the Democrats of today is not hard and is a startling revelation indeed. The Democrats are the same today as they have always been, only today they make Class and Religion the targets of their hate. Wake up your kids, pass this on.

-2 Derived from W Cleon Skousen’s “The Making of America,” a book I have in storage so I can’t get you the exact text, but look up the entry on slavery.
