I find it fascinating that the Marxist Left is freaking out over a movie that is, in all likelihood, going to contain elements they would normally like. The upcoming Joker film is already causing a stir because it’s supposedly going to cause Incel violence or something ridiculous like that. In truth, The Joker movie may be holding up a mirror to them that makes them wildly uncomfortable.

Conservative Movie of the Year: Kubo and the Two Strings

Conservatives often complain that Hollywood makes no Conservative films, and when they do, we either don’t notice, or we let them bomb. The first Atlas Shrugged was good. It bombed. The two sequels lacked the budget to be good as a result. In Kubo and the Two Strings, we have an even bigger cinematic tragedy, because here is a great movie, one that is surprisingly Conservative and without beating you over the head with it, and it tanked, badly.

Attack on our Intelligence

   I’m sitting in theater seat E10, my wife next to me, my brother and his wife in the seats ahead of us. We’re not big anime fans, yet Attack on Titan looks promising, so we are willing to enter a theater surrounded by Otaku, a scene I normally would not be a part of. Not that there is anything wrong with Otaku, they’re pretty cool, but I am just not that into anime, with some exceptions.

Raise a Glass to Christopher Lee

Last week was a difficult one, for a myriad of reasons. However, this blog isn’t a vent session, but needless to say last week provided some challenges, then topped it off with the news that my all-time favorite villain character actor, the great Christopher lee, passed away. A lot of folks were quick to remind me that he was Ninety-Three… I know that, it’s just that he had been around so long that I was kind of hoping he really was immortal.

The Power of Your Purchases

You might be hearing rumblings of the famous Hideo Kojima being out at Konami after Metal Gear Solid 5. This is a huge surprise for a lot of people, as Metal Gear has generally been one of the more successful game series out there. The idea that this might literally be the last game in the series is hard to imagine. However, the series has not sold as well as you might think, and there are a number of reasons Kojima may have turned off his core audience stateside and frankly, he’s not the only one who has.

Nintendo puts a nail in the coffin of 3D

3D, or not 3D? That is the question... Well I guess not. Nintendo has announced the next iteration of the 3DS and it is... well, without the 3D feature. They say so that they can market better to the under 7 kids crowd, but I suspect they are quietly backing away from 3D, though I don't understand why as Nintendo 3DS has been a smash success despite all the 3D Hatrz.

Silent Hill Revelations 3D: A step in the right direction but...

Continuity is a funny thing. Most of the time you want it, the X-Men series, for instance, while still very enjoyable, has already suffered a continuity breakdown after only five films, trying to figure out how all the films connect is already a headache. We are more forgiving of Bond because 007 has had over 20 films to work with, but Silent Hill is actually a series that is being hurt by its adherence to the film’s continuity.

The Left and the Right are wrong about Batman

 I think the world of Chris Nolan. Though a committed leftist Chris has used Batman to explore the world of the Right, Batman went from being ordinary silly super hero to a committed anti-terrorist, and even the proof that the wealthy, through charity do help the poor, and he became the destroyer of an Occupy Wall Street-like movement. We on the right should be singing this guy all kinds of praise for being so open minded, especially since we are used to outright hostility from Hollywood. Oddly I am seeing a lot of people instead use this movie to call for censorship, which isn’t a very conservative response at all… Colorado suffered a major tragedy at the hands of a mad man claiming to be the Joker. Twelve people are dead, many more wounded. My heart aches for these people and their families, but both the right and leftist media have been politicizing this matter and it’s making me angry (and you wouldn’t like it when I’m angry… wait wrong super hero movie…).
